Our Knit Wits group meets once a month. We will be knitting prayer shawls this year, as unfortunately we have found that there is a great need. This year we are going to start off by knitting on our own. Yarn is provided by Union Church Missions. We will meet at the church office once a month to socialize and collect the finished prayer shawls. The pray shawls will then be taken to Union Church to be prayed over. All our knitted scarves and hats will be given to Cold Hands/Warm Hearts to support that ministry. Blessing bags will be given to Seeds of Hope at Thanksgiving time.
Contact Carol Sherman if you need some yarn or are interested in knitting.
School year 2018 has started at Alternative Pathways Center. Director, Martha Jacques and the students have welcomed back Knit Wits/APC. We are back for our third year, baking pies for Biddeford’s River Jam, baking cookies for all, playing cards, etc. Beth Baskin is the “kitchen boss”. The students love to be in the kitchen with her. Everyone enjoys the smell of pies and cookies baking and of course, the students get to partake of their efforts. Card games are always fun. October will bring mask making and pumpkin carving, lead by Polly Nodden.
