To Prospective Candidates for Pastor at Union Church:

Union Church in Biddeford Pool, Maine, seeks a pastor to lead our church and guide us in our spiritual life and development in the years ahead. We have been led by and flourished under a beloved pastor, Jan Hryniewicz, for fifteen years until her retirement in January 2016. Our search for a new pastor is now underway, after ensuring the church’s continued vibrancy under the very able and caring leadership of our interim pastor, Dr. Nancy Bancroft.

Union Church is a small, inclusive, inter-denominational Christian church which gathers in a joyful place of worship by the sea in southern Maine. Each Sunday finds between 50 and 100 people of all ages in our pews. Many are “snow birds”, traveling south in the winter; thus, attendance peaks in the summer months. We are a dynamic force in the local community and have a clear sense of our purpose and vision for a new pastor’s role in our future.

Please visit our website, http://www.unionchurchme.com, where you will find our Church Profile. In addition, you can review Sunday bulletins, weekly announcements of church and community events and a sampling of sermons. You will also find information about our outreach work within the community, photos of events and other items of interest.

Please review the pastor position job description and apply if you wish. With your resume please include an essay telling us why you are interested in this position and why you think Union Church would be a good fit for you and what you feel sets you apart from other candidates.

We look forward to hearing from you.
